Arlene Walker: Ladies Give Thanks
Give Thanks to the guy that broke your heart…He made you stronger.
Give Thanks to the guy that picked you up late from work with his friends *in your car*….He made you stronger too.
Give Thanks to the guy that sexed you and never called you again…He made you stronger.
Give Thanks to the guy that cheated on you…He made you stronger.
Give Thanks to the parent in your life that rarely gave you their attention…They made you stronger.
Give Thanks to the best friend that slept with your boyfriend…She made you stronger.
Am I making my point?
Every situation has a positive point to it. We may not see it while we are in the situation, but it is there. The sooner we find it the sooner we feel better about ourselves and others. The positive point is that there is something in every situation that leaves us with a valuable lesson learned.
That same guy that broke your heart allowed you to see your true worth. He gave you the ability to walk away immediately when you see that things aren’t right. He showed you bad things that gave you the ability to have appreciation for the good when they come your way.
Still with me? Let me know if I need to elaborate.
Now, Take a moment to reflect on the hurts of your past. Take note of the lessons you have learned. Count those lessons as blessings. Forgive others and yourself if you haven’t already done so. Smile at yourself because you have just done something that some people never accomplish. :)
