I did promise you guys a few guest writers from time to time and today i am posting a piece written by a buddy of mine   Emann Joasil.  He’s a young Haitian-American out of New Jersey who enjoys writing about his culture and his people’s plight.  You can listen to him every Sunday night at 10 PM on www.radyokontak.com

==================================================

There is no God punishing Haiti. Anybody, and I don’t give a damn if that person is Jesus Christ, feeding you with this nonsense is contributing to the misfortunate situation you are living as a people.

We have a bunch of stupid fuckers (Haitians and non-Haitians) in the religious circles on the ground in Haiti polluting the minds of the people in such a way to pacify and make them accept their fates as a matter of divine punishment. In their blame game, of course, they’ve got to go after Vodou to make it their most convenient scapegoat.

You have been brainwashed to believe that your own culture, beliefs and value system all contribute to the degrading and inhumane situation you are living. Most of these Haitian religious leaders are a bunch of modern slaves who are on the payrolls of these big Western corporate churches.

They are not telling you how we got to where we are today, because they do not care to know; they do not give a damn. As long as they have you to bring them your hard earned income, and they have a US visa to vacation with their families every year in the US paid for by their masters, they are living on earth “le paradis terrestre.”  They are not telling you that we are made victims of outrageous policies from the United States and all these major international financial institutions such as the IMF, World Bank, etc…

No God was behind the destruction of the Haitian rice industry, making us today the third largest US rice importer in the world with only a population of 9 million people. You know damn well who was behind that and why. No God was behind the decision to kill the country’s Creole pigs, the rural economy’s second most important economic component, which has destroyed the entire socioeconomic system of the country. You know damn well who was behind that and why. Because of the destruction of the rural economy, the economic base of the country, the peasants are/were forced out of their fertile and agricultural lands to migrate to the big cities to live in newly erected slums and work as domestic workers (restavek, jeran and bon) at people’s houses.

So I hope now you have a clear sense as to what the reality entails. Next time these religious fuckers come to you trying to convince you to believe that God is punishing Haiti, you need to spit in their faces, and that is if you cannot slap the shit out of them. They are your enemies; therefore, you need to beware of them.

    I have mixed views about this. I agree with you that God is not punishing Haiti. Our God is a just and loving God. In the Bible, God told the people He will never destroy the land again( after the great flood, with Noah and the Ark). That was his promise, and I believe he has kept it. I am kind of concerned, though, with the tone of your writing. Do you believe in God? Do you believe He is the result of the Good thin

    It seem as if your only concern are of the pastors that are “brainwashing” their followers. Just to let you know, your faith should never be in the Man but the God behind it.

    Woooouch! I LOVE THIS PIECE. No minced words, just harsh truth, which is sometimes the way to go when the truth needs to be shocked into their senses.

    I believe the writer’s concern is the pastors because as someone who travels to Haiti often and who has lived there, it is frightening to hear what they are saying in the streets there after the quake. Many, because until now they were not educated on earthquakes and natural disasters, are going around repeating this reasoning and it does come from the pastors. They even say it over blowhorns to get the people to listen and it’s a horrible thing to do. Not only is it ignorant, but it promotes self-hate and hate of our culture so yes, as loud as their voices have been condemning our Haiti, is as loud as our voices have to be screaming back.

    Bravo Emann!

    This is just his opinion and I agree with him that God is not punishing Haiti. However I can see that he has a problem with himself because and I hope he got Jesus.The pastors are not God and he should be smarter then that. who cares if pastor says if you cannot prove me anything in the bible i don’t believe because everything that already happened, that will happen already in that bible and again it has been written way before this time in Matthew 24:7 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places……

    About human or should I say pastors/prophet here some references for not to trust them….
    it says Matthew 7:15(Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.) Mark 13:22 (For false Christs and false prophets shall rise, and shall shew signs and wonders, to seduce, if it were possible, even the elect…..)
