Such a small city, in a country where money tends to fall from the skies; a place where the rich are getting richer and the poor are barely getting by.  There are houses that appear to be public toilets, yet the people from the town are so nice and very genuine.  Many leave home and venture into the capital to shop and spend money and there are others that come for the joy of life, while billboards hang across the ravines and the crowded streets, talking about the promise land.  All the wealth that this city advertises never makes it around to help some with plans.

Sweet ole Haiti, surrounded by History, Love, and Unity, at least that’s what many preach. As you cross the tracks of Cité Soleil, there stands the land of a less fortunate community; there lies the dreams of children, whom can’t buy a way out of their society.  So, they hit the streets running for obligations and selling drugs becomes there number one priority. City of Sun is a place where a day is worth millions and children are seen as deal breakers.

In these sadden communities you will find, the products of fail government and the results of a land tarnished.  Upon review, considering the laws and facts, it’s not the money that makes the town but the people on the other side of the tracks.

Like I always say, loving Haiti is painful when you realize its truths, but for most of us it is not a choice.

BitterSweet…Hopefully if I don’t see it, my kids or grandkids will get to see and experience a better Haiti.
